• About Ilkal:- Ilkal sarees are the everyday heirlooms of northern Karnataka, woven for lives that move between labour, ritual, and routine. Rooted in the town of Ilkal and its surrounding villages, these sarees are instantly recognisable by their bold borders and signature red pallu. What sets Ilkal apart is the Tope Teni technique, where the body warp and pallu warp are looped together rather than woven as a single length. This structural joining creates a clear visual shift between the body and the pallu while also reinforcing the strength of the fabric.
