- About Chikankari:- Chikankari applies over forty defined stitches on semi-transparent cotton or muslin substrates. Executed post-block-print tracing, its relief embroidery integrates optical layering and thread tension control, producing shadow-like motifs characteristic of Lucknow’s fine needlework systems.
- About Bandhani:- Bandhani’s tie-resist dyeing relies on micro-binding precision. Fabric portions are tied using fine thread tension calibration to resist dye uptake. Sequential dye baths form layered chromatic fields, with residual irregularities defining authentic manual control.
- About Kantha:- Kantha involves layered cotton stitched with continuous running embroidery to reinforce and embellish. Its micro-stitch repetition builds structural density and surface relief. Originating in Bengal, it demonstrates efficient upcycling through stitch-based reinforcement and narrative patterning.
